Gunnedah is the service hub for one of NSW’s richest agricultural regions. Gunnedah is also home to one of the healthiest koala colonies in NSW. Their natural habitat has been preserved through careful planning and development approvals. Koalas can be sighted at various locations in and around the town. Check the Visitor Information Centre on their whereabouts. There is an excellent choice of accommodation and Gunnedah is also developing a reputation for fine dining with several new restaurants opening in the last two years. Take time to visit Porcupine Lookout to appreciate the vastness of the Liverpool Plains and the mountains that stretch away to the Northwest.
